NSD Hosting Community Meeting at J.F. Dion School on May 27th

Northland School Division invites residents to a community meeting on Monday, May 27, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the J.F. Dion School Gymnasium. A dinner will be provided and served starting at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss offering grade 7 and 8 programming once again at J.F. Dion School. Revisiting the possibility of offering grade 7 and 8 once again is in response to the feedback we received from families at the community engagement on January 5, 2024. 

During the Regular Board Meeting on May 26, 2023, the Board of Trustees approved an adjustment to the grades being offered at J.F. Dion School for the 2023-2024 school year. This school year, J.F. Dion School is offering Kindergarten to grade 6. Before the Board motion was made, J.F. Dion School also offered programming for students in grade 7 and 8. 

The Board motion from May 26, 2023 was in response to a survey that was distributed to parents/guardians and community members requesting input on grade level programming. The majority of respondents at that time were in favour of removing programming for students in grades 7 and 8.
